Case study

Week 9: Base stage

While the house is mostly light-weight construction, the heavy split-face block base helped to break the vertical scale of the house and "ground" the home into the site.

Comments from our client: "We had originally wanted to be in our new house by October 2003, but we didn't find the land until July 2003, so we knew that wasn't going to work. We then had major Council issues with the sub-development...Eventually we got it out of Town Planning with a lot of support from Ivan. If I'd had to do it, we wouldn't have got anywhere because every attempt I made I was shut at the front door. I'm very appreciative of everyone's inside road!"
